Canon unveils the 85mm f1.4L IS, its first 85mm with stabilization ...

MICHAEL ZHANG, PETAPIXEL:

Canon has just officially announced its new 85mm f/1.4L IS lens. It’s Canon’s first ever 85mm lens to offer image stabilization.

The new lens complements Canon’s 85mm lineup rather than replace the Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II. It’s still a top-of-the-line professional L lens, but instead of a wider f/1.2 aperture, you get four stops of stabilization and f/1.4.

On a Canon APS-C crop sensor camera, this 85mm offers a 136mm equivalent focal length.
