It's impossible to miss these two trees standing shoulder to shoulder from across the street of our house. With their leaves and branches touching each other, I imagine them closely and faithfully related to each other somehow. Friends? Lovers? Every day, as I pull out the driveway, I see them standing majestically to greet me in stoic silence. These trees, home to several species of winged and crawling creatures, have become somewhat of a constant visual signpost for me. I always pay them a cursory glance, sometimes with a smile, their presence always reassuring. As seasons change, from spring to summer, from fall to winter, these trees transform and endure. And with it, I transform and endure.
