As you go about your daily routine, there are many wondrous things that can unexpectedly stop you on your tracks. One of them is a beautiful sunset. Wherever in the world you may be, it can happen, and often, unexpectedly. And when it happens, it is nature's gift to you. It is a magical moment that will give you pause with wonderment.
I count myself lucky enough to have been able to witness many incredible sunsets.
One time, at a park in New York City overlooking the Hudson River, I experienced a sunset that called out to all. As the low sun tinged the sky orange, I noticed how, for a few minutes, the bustling city came to a standstill. It was utterly exquisite. It brought a moment of relief, peace and quiet joy to me, and I'm sure, to everyone else who saw it. It was as if a reset button has been pushed, that everything is alright with the world again.
More recently, in Georgia, nature decided to paint one of its beautiful sunsets. It splashed the sky with a mix of delicate pinks, yellows and blues. I was in in total awe. Standing alone for a few minutes, in the middle of nowhere, I basked in its gentle, ethereal glow.
I don't know what purpose beautiful sunsets serve, but to me, it is a reminder that the world is beautiful, and that life is beautiful.
