COME OUT AND LOOK, A POEM BY F. APOLLO M. ARENAS
When the sun rises today,
Let its rays shine down on you,
Let it wake the flowers
and make them bloom,
and may the wind blow their petals unto you.
If rain falls on this merry day,
Let it turn the earth freshly green,
When it stops to let the sunshine in,
Look up and search the sky,
In there a rainbow smiles on you.
When the wind blows to caress the trees,
enjoy their dance to its soulful hum,
Then turn your gaze on the graceful branches,
Perched there by a nest of choir of birds sing
a medley of tunes, a special greeting.
If this day looks like a gift to you,
come out and with your tiny hands take it,
Wrap it in a sweet smile,
lock it in your mind's treasure chest.
Life is your party. Live it.
